ALIENS

Christians are called to be in the world but not of the world for by Christ we are called (Romans 12). This world is sinful, if we are with Christ we are set apart from the world. So. if we are not of this world but in this world what does that make those of us who are true, confessing Christians? Aliens. We are foreigners living in a strange land.

I was recently listening to Lecrae and his song Aliens came across my ears. In it he, with the rhythmic assistance of Tedashii, uses “aliens” as an acronym.

A – A whole notha kind of folks, kinda slow. But we gotta go cause the world’s so Ill.
L – Livin’ the life and livin’ it right, and livin’ for Christ and that’s real in the field
I- Intelligent but irrelavent without Christ, it’s nothing but another sin element
E- Eternal purpose, without it this earth is dead and worthless
N- Never stop giving Him props, giving Him praise now until the end of our days
S- Seek Him and please Him and let the people know that they need Him

Aliens! New Creations, new free agents, ain’t signed to sin
What the world do, we don’t do
Cause we wanna do what the Lord does; Christ within our system
Listen our mission’s the Great Commisssion, we come here to represent Him
That’s why we call ourself Christianans, Ha, Let me spit another line
For the Plumbline and the Frontline one time on the front lines
keep holdin’ it down for all the pilgrims
All over the world representing for the bloodline

Check out the song online.

Watching and Waiting

Watching the news from all around the world…

I long for the day when the grey curtain of this world is pulled back and the splendor of heaven fills every crevice on, above and below the earth.

When it seems there is no hope, remember Christ has already won the ultimate victory.

In Him there is hope.

In Him alone.

The World United…London 2012

I write this now as I watch the closing ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games. While the ceremonies are full of energy and everyone is in high spirits, it is a good reminder of the amazing feats of athleticism experienced over the course of the past two weeks; a brief period of time when the world was seemingly united in London and across the globe. Nations stood side by side, cheering on their respective competitors, while also admiring the athletes from other countries.

Like it is with every set of Games, there was a mix of favored winners and unexpected upsets. World and personal records were broken, and in some cases shattered, as athletes put in more effort than ever before. Medals were won and received to the sound of national anthems from across the globe.

I am thankful for past two weeks and the range of emotions brought upon by the Olympic Games. I always enjoy them and look forward to the next set already (less than two years until Winter 2014 in Russia!!).

To all the athletes- well done to each and everyone of you. Whether you took home a medal or not, know that you are still one of the best and that your hard work and determination will serve as inspiration to countless people in every corner of the earth.

Team USA 2012. Sp proud of all of them! Final medal count: 104 (46G, 29S, 29B)! USA USA USA

We Are The Free!

So. Amazing! I want to see this song and the power of the words filling youth groups, camps and churches across the nation and world!

We are truly the forgiven and freedom generation! Let’s join together and spread the fire that is in our hearts…our fire for Christ will never fade away and we will always give the glory to Him who is above all. Let’s rise up into to world He created and spread the good news! You, no matter your age, are part of the Freedom Generation…LIVE IT!

We are the free, the freedom generation
Singing of mercy
You are the One who set us all in motion
Yours is the glory
There’s a fire in our hearts and it burns for You
It’s never gonna fade away
We are the free, and Yours is the glory

Tell The World That…

Don’t want to stand here and shout Your praise
And walk away and forget Your Name
I’ll stand for you if it’s all I do
Cause there is none that compare to You

Cause all I want in this lifetime is You
And all I want in this whole world is You

Tell the world that Jesus lives
Tell the world that, tell the world that
Tell the world that He died for them
Tell the world that He lives again

No longer I but Christ in me
Cause it’s the truth that set me free
How could this world be a better place?
But by thy mercy and by thy grace

Cause all I want in this lifetime is You!
And all I want in this whole world is You!

Tell the world that Jesus lives
Tell the world that, tell the world that
Tell the world that He died for them
Tell the world that He lives again

C’mon, c’mon we’ll tell the world about You
C’mon, c’mon we’ll tell the world about You
Tell the world that Jesus lives
Tell the world that, tell the world that
Tell the world that He died for them
Tell the world that He lives again
C’mon, c’mon we’ll tell the world about You
Tell the world that
Tell the world that
C’mon, c’mon we’ll tell the world about You
Tell the world that
Tell the world that
About You!
