On a day like today, it is especially important to remember the men and women who have fought for our freedom across the years. Not only those who have died, but also those who are currently fighting for us and serving our country. While wars may be debated and contested, I urge everyone to remember that each member of our military is there by choice. It has been decades since our country has held a draft, and that is because there are so many young men and women who are willing to serve and fight. So for today let’s set aside the politics of war and remember the people who are fighting for our freedom, the people who have paid the ultimate price for our freedom.
To my friends and family in the military-all I can really say is thank you for everything you have done. You have my utmost respect and we are all in your eternal debt.
